Hoang Su Phi in the province of Ha Giang is an area less frequented by tourists. But that does not mean it is not pretty. If you stay for a few days in Ha Giang, this place is definitely worth a visit, but you need to take at least two days. Hoang Su Phi is about 70 km from the city (see map), but to get there through the winding road takes a lot of time.

Hoang Su Phi District of Ha Giang is located at the foot of the grandiose Tay Con Linh Mountain. Here, there is a unique kermes called Hoang Su Phi Sunday Market, where a variety of ethnic minorities come and trade with each other in traditional style.
Every Sunday, people from different parts of the district flock to the market with their homemade products and special patterns of 14 ethnic minorities in Hoang Su Phi.
The atmosphere in Hoang Su Phi Sunday Market is so bustling with handmade products would amaze any visitors by their diversity: from household tools, clothes, jewelries to fresh foods and fruits and animals. Additionally, colorful clothes of either sellers or buyers in the market would dazzle your eyes and stimulate your enthusiasm.
Little is known about the other side of this market as a huge stage of different ethnic minorities after hard-working day. Hmong people join in with their Gau Tao festival, Dzao people bring fire jumping game; Tay people present Long Tong festival; and the forest worshiping of Nung people. Hoang Su Phi is defined by local people as a land of golden phloem. The district is still preserving a huge primitive forest thanks to the restless attempt of the local authority to provide people with good conditions to live on without deforestation.
At present, Hoang Su Phi has been opening tours such as Bac Quang – Hoang Su Phi; Thong Nguyen – Nam Hong – Giang Thuog ; Chieu Lau Thi Trek; Nang Don – Trung Thinh, etc.
Besides, Hoang Su Phi has 8 art troupes in different villages and tourist attractions to serve the demand for traditional music and dancing of tourist. In addition, traditional trade villages are also favored by tourist suc as: Le Hong Phong blacksmith in Nam Son commune; and weaving villages in Nam Son, Nam Ty, Ho Thau.
